Tour Overview

The small group tour at Pompeii (a UNESCO world heritage listed site) takes you to some of the world’s most magnificent historical monuments in the most picturesque areas of Italy. Go through the ruins of Pompeii to experience a beautiful treasure.

You will be acquainted with an archaeological specialist tour guide who will explain everything about the ancient streets, historic bakeries, stalls, stores, private and communal dwellings, public baths, and brothels that have been preserved in this city.

A day tour of Pompeii offers a unique opportunity to explore the incredibly well-preserved ancient Roman city that was buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Even after 2000 years, such remains may still be seen. You’ll feel like you’ve been transported back in time as you listen to the stories of the ancient ruins.

Here’s what you’re going to see during your day tour of Pompeii:

Forum:

Start your tour at the heart of Pompeii, the Forum. This was the social, political, and commercial center of the city. You can see ruins of temples, public buildings, and basilicas that were essential to Roman urban life.

Amphitheater:

Visit the large amphitheater where gladiatorial contests and other performances were held. It’s one of the oldest surviving Roman amphitheaters and offers insights into ancient entertainment.

House of the Vettii:

Explore one of Pompeii’s well-preserved private residences. The House of the Vettii showcases intricate frescoes, mosaics, and architecture that provide a glimpse into the daily lives of wealthy inhabitants.

Villa of the Mysteries:

This villa is renowned for its stunning frescoes, especially those in the (dining room). The frescoes depict scenes related to the initiation of a woman into a mystery cult, offering a fascinating glimpse into ancient religious practices.

Lupanar (Brothel):

While not suitable for all audiences, the Lupanar provides an interesting look into the social aspects of ancient Pompeii. The rooms are adorned with explicit frescoes that offer insights into the city’s social and cultural norms.

Baths of Pompeii:

The city’s public baths were an essential part of daily life. Explore the different rooms, including the changing rooms, cold baths, warm baths, and hot baths, and learn about Roman bathing practices.

House of the Faun:

This grand residence is one of the largest and most impressive in Pompeii. It features a beautiful mosaic of a dancing faun, from which it gets its name.

Garden of the Fugitives:

This haunting area contains plaster casts of the bodies of Pompeii’s inhabitants who perished during the eruption. The casts were made by pouring plaster into the voids left by the decayed bodies, giving a poignant glimpse into the tragedy that struck the city.

Temple of Apollo:

Explore this well-preserved temple dedicated to the god Apollo. It offers insight into ancient Roman religious practices and architecture.

Great journey!

The trip to Pompeii was very enjoyable, as the guide truly made the walkthrough very exciting and explained about the city immortalized by the eruption of volcanic Mt. Vesuvius. After Pompeii then headed to the outstanding coastal town in southwestern Italy, Sorrento. Taste of authentic Neapolitan Pizza and driving through the attractive streets of Sorrento and drinking limoncello was just awesome. I would recommend this tour!

Take a break from Rome and go there!!

Combining Pompeii and Sorrento day-long tours added an unforgettable experience on my top first 5 trip memory. Pompeii was astounding to see, an excellent heritage and captivating archaeological site in Rome. The trip to Sorrento was satisfying and stopping for pics of the Amalfi coast on the way was superb. Authentic Neapolitan pizza lunch and the limoncello tasting place was fantastic.

I urge you to go on this tour!!

Shocking an amazing tour! A very small group tour - only 7 people! Got mesmerized by the immortalized city Pompeii and the coastal town Sorrento. Breathtaking views of both places took me by surprise and I learned a lot about the places which was really awesome. An archaeological expert guide provided insights about the Pompeii was really praiseworthy. Cruise around Sorrento, gazed at the excellent sea views with the natural charm you simply can’t miss!

Amazing experience! Great tour provider

One of the best tours I've had in Italy. My wife and 12 years kid enjoyed the tour a lot! Lods to see, so much to experience. The day-long tour was enough to absorb it all. I can say this company is one of the finest tour providers in Rome. I’ve done Vatican and Colosseum tours with them. I would love to express my gratitude to the team of Rome tour tickets for arranging such awesome tours that leave travelers speechless!! Amazing in a word!!

Wonderful tour experience:::)

I am so pleased we decided to take a day-long guided tour from Rome with transportation instead of going it alone. A wonderful package that was so satisfying from start to finish. The most helpful part was our guide in Pompeii described everything in a fun and competent way. Pompeii is a really attractive place with a rich history, and Sorrento is charming with some breathtaking coastal views. It was organized so well and worth the value of money. Special Thank you goes to the company for this amazing experience :-)

Pompeii & Sorrento both are wonderful

Had a wonderful day touring Pompeii and Sorrento. Pompeii was interesting. Remnants that are unchanged for almost 2000 years. The guide was very informative and we learned a lot of historical facts from him. Lunch was enjoyable. Sorrento is apparently one of the most attractive spots in Italy and I would not delay recommending this trip. It was delightful to see both sites.

Fascinating tour indeed!!

Pompeii and Sorrento are fascinating cities and filled with history. Both parts of the tour deserve much more than just I could describe. Tour was nicely organized. A trip to Italy is incomplete without a visit to Pompeii and Sorrento. The breathtaking Amalfi coast and the Tyrrhenian coast with panoramic scenes was a lifetime experience. Had the best limoncello in Sorrento, the home of limoncello. Awesome tour.

Great tour service!

As a nature lover, I was always eager to visit the most beautiful natural places around the world. Before visiting Italy, I made a list of must-visit places for me where Sorrento was one of my top charts. This one day trip from Rome to Pompeii and Sorrento as well made my tour experience outstanding with mixed feelings of history, art, culture, and natural beauty at the same time. Highly recommendable tour for all!

Best company for a daylong tour

From beginning to end, the trip was unquestionably excellent. My friend and I did a fabulous tour around Pompeii and Sorrento with a very small group. We booked a day-long guided tour as the Pompeii is quite big and needs someone to guide there. Our tour guide was awe-inspiring and explained everything in detail. He was super quiet, instructive. Sorrento was also fascinating. It’s a long day but I think it was spread out very well, and we got to spend a great quantity of time in both places.I have to say it’s the best company in Rome for daylong tours. 3 tours with this company and all went so well.
