A private walking tour to Colosseum

Well, no tour at Colosseum will feel as personal and exceptional as the private tour to Colosseum. Your journey will begin by finding antiquity in the walls of the world’s biggest amphitheater. With the skip-the-line access, you can explore the underground backstage to see the extraordinary inner works of this amphitheater. Listen to the past events and the famous Gladiator’s combat that occurs in between these encircling walls.

Explore the Ancient Roman Forum

The Colosseum tour would not be complete without a tour at Roman Forum. And our next destination is that place. A walk in the Roman Forum helps you to learn a lot about the political and social activity of the Roman Emperor. Here you will see many archaeological beauty as well, including the one from the oldest century. It is a large area with no shelter from the sun, so bring enough fluids with you while visiting this site.

Next comes The Palatine Hill

You have to walk uphill to explore this hillside. It has more shades compared to the Roman Forum. After circling around you will have a phenomenal bird eye view down onto the Roman Forum.

That’s not the end,

While visiting the Colosseum, this private tour also includes some neighborhood tours as well. Here you will get a guided tour of the Trevi fountain, can see the Spanish steps, Piazza Navona, and more. While strolling you can taste out several Roman street foods as well, such as gelato, cheese, pizza, and so on.

At the end of the tour, you will have a clear understanding of the art, history, and tradition of this beautiful city.

Starting at the Colosseum, you will be astonished to see the underground chambers and Arena Floor which is generally closed to the public. But with a private guided tour, you can explore that and more. And not to forget the beautiful Palatine hill where Rome was founded by a legendary hero, Romulus.

Our Colosseum tour also includes the following places

Trevi Fountain

This fountain is within walking distance from the colosseum, exactly 19 min away. It is the largest fountain surrounded by beautiful Roman houses. It rises in the middle of the square and has many mythological figures. It’s a popular spot among tourists to throw coins on the fountain and make a wish.

Capitoline Hill

Capitoline Hill is one of the seven hills of Rome. Located in the center of Rome is one of the popular tourist stops. It was an important religious spot in ancient Roman times.

Spanish Steps

A set of steps by Rome that climb a steep slope between Piazza di Spagna at the base and Piazza Trinita Dei Monti at the top. It contains a total of 138 steps. During spring and summer, these famous steps of the old city center are crowded with tourists. You are not allowed to sit on the steps.

Piazza Navona

Piazza Navona is an open space in ancient Rome built in the 1st century during Emperor Domitian’s rule. It is popularly known for Baroque architecture. Despite having undoubted architectural beauty and history, most tourists visit here for a pleasant hangout and take a bite from the nearby restaurants.

I loved every minute of it

This was the second time in the Colosseum. The first time I went with a group which consisted of 24 members. I didn't enjoy it with a large group. So the second time I wanted to take a private tour of the Colosseum and I chose this tour offered by rometourtickets.com. I really made a great decision for the second time. Epic tour and I got so much out of my guide wealth of knowledge. Go for it :-)

Wow what an amazing guide

We were guided by a professional guide in our private Colosseum afternoon tour. Not only we had a guide, but we also got complimentary audio headsets which ensured was not miss a word of the guide’s explanation. Her attitude and understanding of Rome during the centuries was surprising. The whole Colosseum experience was mind-blowing with her. Most probably I will go to Italy the next month, if I go, definitely I will do it again.

Unique Private tour Experience

You won't be disappointed if you book a private walking tour. I’m saying it from my own experience so don't think its lie or I'm saying too much. I did this tour the month before last month with my middle-aged parents. My father was a history lover person so I wanted to give him a unique experience that wouldn't be possible if I took any tours except a private walking tour. My parents were so happy after did this tour and gave special thanks to our guide for his unconditional support.

All in a combo

The tour was okay. We got the skip line access. we didn't have to wait in general queues where general peoples waited almost 1 hour. After our marriage, it was our first Rome tour and we wanted to make it special in a different way so booked a private tour though it was a little costly than other general tours. But we were happy to do this. Our guide was so pleasant, patient and a stock of information, not just about the main historical events but also in unique and charming details.

Super exciting and an excellent tour guide

Paid a bit extra and visiting Colosseum with a private tour was so worth it. We didn't get rushed and our guide brought the Colosseum alive for us. He was passionate about history and kept us engaged. Looking forward to booking more tours with the Rome tour tickets in the future.

Enjoyed thoroughly

The private walking tour of the Colosseum, hill, and forum was excellent. My wife and I completely appreciated our tour guide Viviana from Rome tour tickets. She was notably aware of the sites and made sure we were able to see the best views. A bit costly tour was worth the money.

Perfect private guided tour

Luca was an awesome tour guide. We went through 3 hours in Colosseum’s private visit with her and absorbed antiquated beauty to such an extent. She was astonishingly proficient and a joy. We actively recommend private walking guided tour while visiting Rome. It makes the experience a breeze and you will find such large numbers of more things that you won't be able to see it alone or within a big group tour.

Lods of history

The Colosseum is one of the world’s most iconic structures and wonder of Roman architecture and engineering. We explored the inside of the iconic Colosseum, walked through the remains of the Roman Forum, and the Palatine Hill, and informed about Colosseum. Our guide told us active uses over the four centuries, 500,000 gladiators, and one million animals departed in the arena of this grand structure. Really interesting!

Beautiful inside artwork is what gives the Trevi Fountain its unique charm. The trevi fountain used the same Colosseum's travertine stone. It features some important statues and sculptures, such as The God Oceanus, each of which stands in for a different concept, such as wealth and health.

The coin tradition is the real reason for this fountain's fame. Do you know anything about it? You can participate in this tradition by tossing a coin over your shoulder into the fountain water. It is said that if you throw one coin into the water, you will return to Rome. If you throw two coins that means you will return and fall in love in Rome. And three coins signify you will return, fall in love, and marry.

Have you heard about Rome's legendary seven hills? Both Capitoline Hill and Palatine Hill are among those and are connected to the birth of Rome. Capitoline Hill and Palatine Hill are where the first Roman settlement was installed. Romulus built the first defensive walls between Capitoline Hill and Palatine Hill when he founded Rome.

The Spanish Steps are made widely known to a global audience by this film.

The Spanish Steps comprised 135 of them, which were constructed in the 18th century. Francesco de Sanctis was the designer of the 135 stairs. These stairs are still in great shape.

New rules put in place in 2019 make it unlawful to sit on the steps in order to protect the monument even though they were once thought of as a place to relax after backbreaking journeys through Rome.
